Another Milestone

Isaac continues to thrive and today reached a new milestone--he began talking to inanimate objects. Sounds silly, I know, but all of a sudden he's a babbling fool (if you know us, not unlike Hannah and myself). I gave him a pen earlier today and he chatted away.

He also had his 4 month checkup this week and weighed in at 12 pounds and was 22 1/2 inches long. His doctor told us that if he continues to grow at this rate, he'll be caught up by age 2 (which is about "right"). Isaac does have very obvious muscle issues so I asked about Cerebral Palsy. She said she wouldn't say yes or no, yet. She sees signs of possible diagnosis but is not ready to make that decision. Isaac's PT continues to work with him weekly and shows me how to work with him to loosen up his muscles and teach him how to relax.

It was warm enough yesterday afternoon for the three of us to go for a walk. It was wonderful! I put socks on Isaac's hands to keep them warm and away we went! It was glorious. We all loved it. Hannah keeps asking when it's going to be "grass time."

One of my good friends is taking me out for dinner for my birthday tonight and I'm really looking forward to that. We always have fun together.

Isaac just woke up so I better go! I could really use some families for Until Journey's End...I'm hitting dead ends.....help!

For the record, I miss Gram's comments, too...sounds like she's having computer trouble again....we better get that fixed, huh?! Love you, Gram!!!!

WOW! 12 pounds seems so little but considering he started at a little over a teaspoon, he's doing great! LOL. He'll be eating you out of house and home in no time.

His smile is so infectious; you can see he's a bonded, lovey child. CP or no CP, he's going to keep you laughing all day long.

Sent our boy out to play today in the sunshine. Where do my 1 and 2 year old head?? SANDBOX... which is filled with melted snow. EWWWWWW. They were both dripping, head to toe, and laughing just as hard as they could. They had to be freezing but they were both so tickled to be splashing outside, they didn't care. Oh to be a boy...

We start the rounds of specialist and therapists with 2 year old tomorrow, trying to address some hearing/speech impairment. Of course, this child tried to cook his own lunch on Saturday (got a sauce pan, a hot pad, a box of mac/cheese and filled pan with water) and helped himself to a 2 pound chunk of cheddar this morning... What he lacks in hearing he makes up for in ingenuity.

Enjoy the Lord's sunny days :-)

PS: will post pics of cheese breakfast this weekend

Something just came to me with you wanting more families for your ministry: Is there anyway that you could partner with the RMD House either locally or in Ohio where you were for so long?

Just wondering if you had checked into having another agency work with you in getting on contact with families truly in need of your care packages.

Just a thought. . . .

Good afternoon,

12 lbs sounds good it sounds like he is not missing a meal at all!!
Thanks for the pictures they are so darn cute!! We hope that all continues to go well, we will have to pray that Isaac will be a normal bouncy boy in the future. Psalm 91 is a good choice!! I am sure that I mentioned it before but that goes with "age".

Lots of Love, Gram and Papa
